About
Hi! I’m Ivan, a student, researcher, and developer with a passion for data science and international economics. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service at Georgetown University in Qatar, where I also co-founded and lead the Georgetown Analytics club. I have also taken courses at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar.
I have extensive experience in conducting data analysis and applying natural language processing techniques to various domains, such as the aviation industry, the labor market, and cryptocurrency trading. I have worked as a research assistant at Georgetown University in Qatar and Georgetown University in Washington, DC, where I collaborated with professors and other researchers to design, collect, process, and visualize large-scale datasets using Python, R, STATA, and LaTeX. I have also developed a retail telegram bot as a freelance project, which increased product sales by 35% through an intuitive and user-friendly interface.
In addition to my academic and professional endeavors, I enjoy participating in competitions and challenges that test my skills and creativity. I was a top-4 finisher in the Qatar Final round of the Microsoft Imagine Cup, where I developed a triage and preliminary diagnosis tool using Microsoft Azure. I also love learning and exploring different cultures, which has led me to seek out a variety of experiences in and outside of the classroom. Some of my hobbies include sailing, swimming, backpacking, snowboarding, and playing guitar.
